Academic research practices have remained virtually identical in their conduct and organization over the last few decades. Disparate groups of researchers work on ideas, projects and inventions in isolated clusters, with little sharing of information and synergies from collaboration. Differing versions of documents, project management challenges, and communication breakdowns can also sap productivity.
The advent of Web 2.0-based research networks such as MyNetResearch has dramatically reduced the barriers and obstacles of people interacting with each other across the world. In addition, they are designed to improve document management, project management, collaboration, and idea discovery.
We invite proposals from research faculty that describe how MyNetResearch can help researchers at their universities create productive university-wide research collaborations and improve overall efficiency of their university's research efforts. These could include:
• Support of research consortia within or across universities • Support of academia/industry research collaborations • Support of research Centers within or across universities • Improving research across the university in support of accreditation efforts • Creating a support infrastructure for PhD students' dissertation and management • Support of multiple-country research efforts
1. Nature of the Award The competition shall consist of three (3) awards of 1-year Institutional Licenses for the grant applicants' universities, worth $50,000 each. This license may be used by research faculty and graduate students at the grantee's university.
